Scale shot of Mk6 Marines

Size does matter, sometimes at least... ;)

So here is a scale shot for those of you who are interested, putting my MK6 Marines against a normal Space Marine Mini.

As you can see my "simple Mk6 Marines" are even a tad bigger than the standard Marines, so one step closer to true scale Space Marines, hehe :)

Simple Mk6 armour style Marines

I was always a big fan of the Horus Heresy long before the novels were written. In fact this started with the Adeptus Titanicus board game and the first Space Marine 6mm game.

Over the years I always wanted a “Beakie”-Marine (Mk6 armour) army, but the old MK6 rogue trader era miniatures looked out of place compared to the newer Marines especially with their tiny legs. When the first plastic bit shops started, I thought of simply exchanging the legs of the old Marines against the newer MK6 legs, which now could be ordered in reasonable quantities.

Today I am showing you the results of this undertaking and I think the simple leg swap transformed really old minis into up to date looking minis. As legion of choice I chose the World Eaters Legion for my Horus Heresy Army as they appeal the most to me.

My army depicts the World Eaters Legion in the time after the Mars campaign when traitor forced had already seized the MK6 armour production lines on Mars (source WD #129) and reequipped themselves for the Assault on the Moon resp. Terra, thus exchanging most of their older and broken MK3, 4 or 5 armour suits for the new MK6 ones.

You will notice that many victims of the World Eaters displayed on their bases are wearing Mk7 armour. Production lines of Mk7 were also transferred to Terra (source WD #129) and thus loyal forces on Terra wear a mixture of Mk6 and 7 suits etc. during the last battles of the HH. This gave me a simple opportunity to recycle leftover MK7 armour parts for my army.

Accompanying the foot troops are one old Land Raider and an old Predator tank as well as a Dreadnought and a HH style era Land Speeder inspired by the very first Land speeders which I will show you later. :)

Here they are. Hope you like them! :) Cheers invivos

Microcrassus Transport - WIP

Microcrassus Transport - WIP
Today I show my newest scratch build, the Microcrassus! Armed with two machineguns in the front, it is capable of amphibious operations and can transport up to ten soldiers comfortably. Six hatches on the roof ensure that soldiers can watch their surroundings and use them as gun ports or for (dis)embarking the transport.

Still needs a few details, than it is up for painting. Hope you like it! :)

Rhea pattern Gun Emplacement

Happy Valentine´s day to you! For all you guys who need to hurry around today buying flowers and sweets for your beloved, here is something for you to enjoy and to relax a little! ;)

The Rhea pattern Gun Emplacement was my attempt at building a gun emplacement with a cannon for my Imperial Guard army. The entire gun emplacement apart from the turret was scratchbuilt from plastic card and a few bits. Typical for my Rhea pattern turrets is the old, round style commander hatch.Recently I finished the paint job on this fellow, so I thought you might want to see it. Below are some pics for you to enjoy :)

Crescent blade jetfighter

Today I am showing you some pics of my scratchbuilt Crescent blade jetfighter, which was intended to serve as my Dark Eldar count as razorwing model. :)

It is inspired by the Razorwing jet artwork and follows the smooth lines and design typical for all (Dark) Eldar vehicles. Apart from some minor details, the basic model is done and I will hopefully paint it soon. The main body from the Crescent blade was cut from a thick sheet of plastic card and filed & sanded down to the pointy shape you now see. A couple of plastic spoons made the engine, the lower side was build from various leftover parts.

Here are some more pics of it, hope you like it! :)

Rhea pattern Executioner tank

Today I show you some pics of my recently finished Rhea pattern Executioner tank :)

Fluff: The moons of Rhea are producing a special trench warfare variant of the rare Executioner tank in very limited production runs. Equiped with a set of sturdy trench rails to cross trenches and dangerous tank pits, the Rhea pattern tank mounts a rare but powerful MkVIIb "Emperor" pattern plasma cannon as its main armarment in a special uparmoured Rhea pattern turret.

The plasma cannon can be simply swaped for a normal cannon if needed due to the modular gun mount. Here are the pics, enjoy! :)

Karl - Heavy Siege Mortar

Introducing Karl...

Karl is my version of a heavy siege mortar counting as bombard for my Imperial Guard Army. Today I glued it together and finished the paint job. Karl has done a tremendous job in my 40k games so far and his tally of destroyed enemy units ranges from tanks like Razorbacks, Rhinos, Falcons to entire squads of hapless Space Marines and Eldar.

Karl´s siege mortar can elevate up to 70° upwards and the rear access hatch can be opened or closed. I gave the mortar mount a cast iron-look using a stone effect spray, simelarly to the look of old steam trains.

I also started on Thor, Karl´s twin brother a while ago, but haven´t come around to finish it yet as the build of the gun cradle, mortar, etc. takes quite some time.

Here are the pics, enjoy! :)

Taurus Pattern Armoured Personal Carrier (APC)

Here is my newest project, the Taurus Pattern APC for my 40k Imperial Guard!

Fluff: The Taurus Pattern APC is a wheeled variant of the common Chimera tank and is mainly used by specialised Imperial Guard Regiments for street fighting or reconaissance tasks in open terrain like sand deserts. While it shares many components with the Chimera, the Taurus four-wheeled design enables it to travel at much higher speeds on streets or any other flat terrain. Additionaly the wheeled suspension can be adjusted in height, allowing the Taurus to pass over rubble or other smaller obstacles when needed.

The Taurus is based on a cheap RC controlled-toy car from Playmobil, I´ll post pics and a little tutorial how to create your own Taurus soon. Oh and the Taurus actually drives thanks to the RC unit! I will post a video of it soon!

For now here are the pics, hope you like it!
